About the Event

Join us for the Inaugural SE Health Literacy Conference

The Southeast Health Literacy conference will bring together health care professionals, librarians, social workers, education, and community public health workers to share knowledge, strategies and best practices for improving the complex issue of health literacy. . Our goal is to provide basic and innovative strategies that attendees can implement in their communities and organizations. The conference theme will focus on health literacy and equity, effective health communication strategies, rampant spread of health misinformation, and the impact of COVID19 on rural and vulnerable populations.

The conference will feature speakers from various academic medical institutions, including the Medical University of South Carolina, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of South Carolina, Tufts University, University of Texas-Austin and many other academic institutions.  We will also feature special evening pre-conference workshops.

Follow the conference feed on Twitter @hohsc, or email conference organizers at

The conference is hosted by the MUSC Libraries and Hands on Health-SC and has been funded in whole or in part with Federal funds from the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Library of Medicine, under Grant Number UG4LM012340 with the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
